Children’s Therapy Initiative - Central Region provides therapy services to assist children in reaching their full potential through assessment and intervention of identified concerns in the area of hearing, speech, language, movement, learning, self-care and social development.

Therapy Services are provided using a child/family team approach which may include:
- screening and assessment
- direct intervention
- consultation with parents and child care providers for home/child-care/school programs
- education for parents and care-providers
- specialized equipment and environmental adaptations.
Audiology: includes hearing, counseling for appropriate hearing intervention needs, fabrication of ear mold impressions, and FM listening systems.
Speech Language Pathology (SLP): includes speech sounds, language understanding and use, social language skills, voice control, oral motor control, fluency of speech, augmentative/alternative communication, and hearing screening.
Occupational Therapy (OT): includes motor control and skills, sensory processing, cognitive skills, psychosocial skills, self-care skills, environmental access and modification, and specialized equipment needs.
Physiotherapy (PT): includes motor skills, sensory processing, muscle tone, flexibility and strength, balance and coordination, mobility, play skills and specialized equipment needs.

Referral:Referral for therapy services can be initiated through: Physician, Pediatrician, Child Development Clinic, Other therapy agencies, Preschool / school screening, Public Health / Families First, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, School Divisions, CFS, Family Services & Housing, Child Care Centres, Parents- (Referral for Audiology only) For more information contact: RHA- Central Regional Rehab Services |
